Did you just squeal and do a little happy dance with your hips while sitting in your chair?
OK, settle down, kids. You have to sit through another edition of Mama M's Five Question Friday.
Why? Because I like to talk about myself. Don't we all? Of course we do - it's why we have blogs.
But I'll try to keep it short - just for you.
Here we go!
1. What is one food you could eat everyday?
Fritos with jalepeno cheese dip
pretzel MnM's
Dr. Pepper
garlic bread
celery with jalepeno ranch dip
mostly, that celery is in there just so I don't feel like a lard-butt. And yes, I like jalepeno flavored stuff. And no, I don't know how to get that squiggle line above the "n" in jalepeno. If I did, I would put it there.
Wait - that wasn't just one, was it. Hmm. Oh well.

2. Are you working in the career you thought you would be when you were 18?
Yeah, I pretty much always knew I wanted to be a mom. What I didn't know was how flippin hard it would be. How you worry all the time over everything, how you never stop cleaning up messes, and how you wonder every second of the day if you're doing it right.
But when I was little I wanted to be a photographer for National Geographic.

3. What is something that you wish you would have done when you were younger and you didn't?
When I was planning my wedding reception, my dad offered to just give me the money so I could go on a nice long honeymoon to Italy.
Yeah. I didn't do it. I'm an idiot.

4. What color are your kitchen walls?
Beige. (My head just hit the desk because I fell asleep from the boredom of typing that.) We rent, so the color of the kitchen won't change anytime soon. Beige = Boring, people. You know it's true.

5. Do you remember what your very first favorite song was?
No, but I know what my least favorite song was. It was a song my dad would sing to my siblings and me every night when he decided he wanted to watch TV that was too mature for us so we had to go to bed. (He wasn't watching porn or anything - just nothing intended for ten year olds.) It's sung to the tune of "It's Howdy-Doody Time" and the words go like this:
It's muscle building time!
It's muscle building time!
It's time to go to bed,
And rest your little heads!
We hated that song. We dreaded the first two notes and immediately began writhing on the floor and crying when we heard him utter the first word. (Dad always made the first word last about five whole seconds so that we could get thoroughly worked up about it. He liked to suck the rewards right out of parenting and savor them like the last bite of cherry cheesecake.) Sometimes he just hummed it. That was just as bad. Sometimes he couldn't even finish because he was laughing so hard at us.
And you know what? I sing it to my kids now. They love it just as much.
Alright now, ya'll. Head over to Mama M's and link up!

I still remember the good morning song that was played on the radio at 6:00am when it came back on the air when I was growing up. I sing it for my seven year old in the morning sometimes. He loves it about as much as your kids like your go to bed song.
ReplyDeleteI'm eating Fritos right now! although normally I don't eat stuff like this and it's 10 a.m. Nonetheless mmmm Fritos!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, Italy! Hopefully one day you'll still get to go!
Just had pretzel M&Ms for the first time....would add them to MY list for sure, along with Dr. Pepper.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the jalapeno (insert squiggle-line here) stuff would be good on a spoon, then you could skip that silly celery.
Great answers!
I haven't tried the new M&Ms yet...must get me a bag today.
ReplyDeleteAnd you passed up Italy???!! That's just crazy!
I love that your dad sang that at night! I hope my kids have fun memories of me like that.
ReplyDeleteI could live off your favorite foods too :)
New follower. Funny blog, really enjoying it. :) I also recently tried the pretzel M&M's -- my son gave me 2 from his bag because he's so generous! They were yummalicious!
ReplyDeleteNow I am hearing that song in my head.
ReplyDeleteI agree on garlic bread. and i was happy to see you listed pretzel M&Ms, too.
Pretzel m&ms are my current favorite pregnancy treat. I'm blaming my pregnancy cravings for eating them at least once a week but I know once this baby comes out I'll still be chowing down on those things, lol.
ReplyDeletei won't be able to move on with my life until you explain how you passed up a free trip to italy
ReplyDeleteMmm... Have to go and try those pretzel m&m's!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your sense of humor--when I read your profile and saw "sarcasm user", I laughed out loud! And pretzel M&M's rock!
ReplyDeleteI almost started involuntarily writhing on the floor with the memory of that song - thanks a lot! ;-)
