This Is My Life

I had to make a really early run to the bank yesterday morning, (one of those times where you're trying to make a deposit before a check clears and ends up costing you an arm and a leg in fees...). So I had to rouse my kids from bed before they were ready to be awake and herd them into the car.

There were a lot of complaints about it being five in the morning, (it was actually 8:30), and how I wouldn't let them bring pillows. (See? I totally know what it's like to have girls sometimes.)

So we drove to the bank and I pulled into a teller line, filled out my slip, and sent it through the magic chute.

And then I looked in my rear view mirror and saw my nine year old standing up in the back of the van, peeing into a Mt. Dew bottle.

Guess I should have made him go to the bathroom before we left.

Hope the bank teller enjoyed the view.

  2. Oh my goodness, I'm laughing so hard at this! I cannot believe with 4 boys I've never experienced anyone peeing in any cans, but I do know all too well what the frantic rush to the bank to avoid bounced check fees is like!

  3. The Mt. Dew bit is epic! Thanks for the morning laugh... I needed it!

And the bit about pillows reminded me of how my little sister used to refuse to go anywhere without this filthy dirty stinky peach throw pillow. My mom used to have to sneak it into the wash even.

    Have a great weekend :)

  4. My sons preferred Taco Bell cups for some reason. Nothing like glancing down at the cup holder, knowing what was in there.

  9. " peeing into a Mt. Dew bottle."

Perhaps the bank clerk could have warned him that there would be a substantial penalty for early withdrawal?

  11. Funny you should mention...

I did actually have to yell at him because I thought he was old enough to know when he was still peeing... For the most part he only soaked his hand.

  12. Oh, you made my morning! Too funny...I love how you comment that you know what it's like to have girls, because having both I KNOW that boys have those "moments" too!

I'm also thinking that the color of Moutain Dew is quite similar to pee?? Hope you got rid of the bottle, or someone might get an ugly surprise!

  13. When you gotta go, you gotta go. I think that will be one of the advantages to having a boy. Pretty sure I couldn't train my daughter to do that.

  14. That's hilarious! And reminds me of the time my parents made my brother pee into a water bottle in the middle of the Nevada dessert. That's how he to the nick-name #2. As in #2 pencil. Won't expound further...

  16. Hahaha - hilarious! My brother used to pee in bottles and hide them in his room. Apparently he was too lazy to actually walk upstairs to the bathroom. Kids are crazy. And gross.

  18. Terrific! I love it! I've had days that were so similar!
Once Mack had to pee in a bottle when he was about 5 and we were in lots of traffic. He had to try to do it sitting down and I made Adam hold the bottle.
He kept freaking out about the bottle getting warm and this would get mack tickled and he wasn't hitting his target as accurately. It was a comedy. A gross one, with bathroom humor, but funny all the same.
I'd love to hear what the bank teller said after you left! lol

  22. So glad I have at least one boy that can do tricks. Note to self: Keep at least one bottle in the car in case of emergency.
