Fly On A Wall

Who doesn't love a little Five Question Friday?  And did Friday sneak up on anyone else?  I don't even know what two of my kids are going to be for Halloween yet.  Lame.

1. If you could be a fly on any wall, which would you choose?
This is tricky because it was my question suggestion, so I feel compelled to answer it.  However...my best answers would unmentionable on this blog because I happen to have told too many people in my real life about the blog.  Dag-nabbit!  So let me think.......

Ok, I got one.  I would love to be a fly on the wall in the White House to see if Michelle Obama has a secret stash of Twinkies.

AND! I would love to be a fly on the backpack of those tattooed people...uh, Nick and Vicki...on this season's Amazing Race.  They are so stupid, they make me laugh out loud every Sunday from 7-8 PM.   OK, that was mean to call them stupid.  How else can I explain it?  Their brains fail them in hilarious ways.  "What's a battlement?  Are you a battlement?"  And then being in Ghana and asking their cab driver to take them to the Arctic Circle.  Laughed until I peed myself.  I love them.

2. Do you budget your Christmas shopping or just get it done without budgeting?
Good hail.  I have to admit that we always count on some kind of miracle to get Christmas paid for.  So far, so good.  We have a set dollar amount for every person we have to buy for, and we keep the list as short as possible.  This year will be extra lean since we have to register our van in December after we buy a new windshield for it, and we have to come up with a way to pay my husband's monstrous and unfair bail forfeiture.  That's a big, fat depressing story all on it's own.  How about we just stop thinking about it now, mmmkay?

3. What is the craziest fad diet you have ever done?
I have never dieted in my entire life.  I've been blessed with fairly decent genes.  The down side to this is that I've become accustomed to eating whatever I want whenever I want, and one day my metabolism will fail me and I'll be screwed.  At that point I plan on licking some cat poop until I get tapeworm or something.  That's a good diet plan right there, folks.

4. Is there a TV show that you have seen every episode/season of?
Lost and Gilmore Girls.  And The Backyardigans.  I can't decide which one of those three is my favorite.

5. What one song always pulls at your heart?
This one:

Just because.  Don't really care for the video all that much, but there ya go.

  3. Maw. 100 Years. That song reminds me of the high school years with Shawn. Good times.

  4. You forgot about "Fast Forward taken. What does that mean? I still don't know what it means!" I almost peed myself too. :)

And you suck that you've never had to diet. How are we from the same gene pool???

  5. Bwhahahahahahaha!!! Tape worm?! I love it!

I too, have been blessed with good genes (and a big appetite), and one of the nurses at work always says, "Can I get some of your tapeworm?"

    Totally cracked me up!!

  8. I love that Five for Fighting song. They always used to play it on those credit card commercials, and it would always make me tear up. How lame is that?

  9. Good hail Batman...I can't even begin to think about paying for christmas when we are still paying for Halloween crap. Jeebus can't a girl get a decent mullet wig for under 10 bucks? Not in today's economy. That mullet wig set me back almost 15 bucks OH and now my husband decides he doesn't want to wear it.FACK...wanna buy it? I'll sign it.

  10. 1. A wall in a house w/out a fly swatter

    2. I usually buy things at Black Friday ("Oh. You got me [sports film girl receiving couldn't care less about]. Ummmm, thank you...so much"). Otherwise, I get it done last second. Thank God for Amazon Prime!!!

    3. I did the Atkin's Diet before it ever existed: I HATED veggies growing up.

    4. Family Matters. Full House.

    5. When Somebody Loved Me. Damn you Toy Story. Dame you for making me cry in front of people.

Also, never saw FFF, but the dude looks kind of creepy, almost like a cross of Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly

  11. Hi, Bethany. Hopped over from Mama M's My Little Life to check out your 5QF. Love your cat poop diet idea (I actually just threw up a little bit in my mouth-Grrossss!).

  13. You and I share the same metabolism, and luckily I'm probably 10 years older and it hasn't caught up. Yet. So I can still love me some candy and junk like that....for now.

Christmas?? Heck, is that coming around again already?

  14. I completely forgot about Gilmore Girls! And I'm pretty sure I've seen every episode of The Backyardigans too, probably several times at this point.
I love that song, it was actually the first song that came to mind but then I thought of 100 others so picked an artist instead.

  15. I always want to be a fly on the wall of my sister's house. I want to see what really goes down between her and her boyfriends when they have these horrible arguments. She's always got her side of the story but I'd love to see what is really going on. Maybe that sounds horrible. I really do love my sister!! But she can have a really slanted view of stuff and I'm always wishing I could help her better if I knew what was really going on. Great post!! Oh and I love me some Backyardigans too!

  16. You just KNOW Michelle has a secret Twinkie stash - how else could you put up with the fakerey in Washington? And I don't even follow Amazing Race, but after that description, I think I just might have to. 'Battlement.' I think my grandmother was a battlement. No joke.

  17. Licking cat poop.... I may just try that when my metabolism fails me.

Oh also? "Their brains fail them in hilarious ways." Very well put!! :)

  18. a) Gilmore and Me - ALMOST as close as The Backyardigans and Me. :p

    b) I've never done a fad diet, either. Just an "all cabbage" diet and "all cauliflower" and "rice"

    heh.

  19. I so agree about that couple on The Amazing race...did you see when they got to the fast forward that said "Taken"...it took them like 5 minutes to figure out what "taken" meant!!! Wha???

And...when you resort to licking cat poop in order to get a tape worm..please let me know...I'm going to "un-follow" your blog!! ha ha ha

  20. This song just gets to me. I cry every single time I hear it.

  21. I'd like to be a fly o/n your wall I think!
And the cat poop/tape worm diet, it's the only one I haven't tried. Probably why I'm obese. I must get a cat just for poop licking purposes.
