Where is my blogging mojo?? I think it got lost in the move. The first one. I have not had an entertaining thought since we left Utah. Imagine my boredom when I'm all alone.
For some reason my voice, the mental voice that comes out here on the blog, is gone. Like my personality got zapped with a super-sonic ray gun and there's just blank nothing in my head now. If you're still here reading this garbage, then I thank you for sticking with me, and you have my sympathy because you must be really hard up for entertainment.
SO! when you can't make things come out right on the computer screen, you resort to very basic blog fodder. Usually, a list.
Tonight we're going with the "Good Thing/Bad Thing" list.
Good thing - I've hit my out of pocket maximum for health insurance for the year. So bring it on.
Bad thing - I've had to plunge the downstairs toilet four times in the last two days.
Good thing - Recalling the night that my mother-in-law told me that my husband was her best nurser. Still makes me snicker.
Bad thing - Getting a mental image of the aforementioned.
Good thing - I've bought all the Easter crap.
Bad thing - I have not finished unpacking. This is a record low for me.
But let's end on a good thing, shall we?
Moving to a new place seriously affects your mojo. Is it affect, or effect? I never know for certain. :) Hang in there, it will get better. It will. I crashed and burned when we moved to Temcula. I gained 60 pounds too. It sucked big time. But it got better.
ReplyDeleteYou better link up with me on this and post one of your stories, even if it's an old one, because you are a seriously talented writer and humorist. Reading your blog lifts me up and makes me laugh my head off. I'm dying over the mother-in-law remark. I'll have to share some of my mother-in-law favorites via email -- TMI about the in-law sex life. I die a little every time I think about it. :)
canned artichoke hearts baby. easy peasy. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, metal tray . . . it is in the details and they don't have to cost a fortune. That try was like $5.00 at a resale shop. :)
it's just stress, you will find your mojo at the bottom of the last box you unpack. personally i like what's been happening with the blog. i mean, i'm sorry for the hard times and all, but your living with the in laws and obsessing over the hearse people made me feel better about living with the family i work for and obsessing over the guitar teacher. so.
ReplyDeleterooting for you!
Good luck with the hearse people!! And don't worry, it takes me forever to unpack too. It's just so tedious...
ReplyDeleteYou're right - I haven't posted all month. Thank you for the reprimand - I needed some blogivation. And I haven't visited your blog in a while and what do I find? Spooning lizards!!!
ReplyDeletei haven't done crap for Easter. Or unpacked from a night away. In February. I think you're doing much better than I.
ReplyDeleteSo, is that new pic of 2 lizards getting it on? Cause one of em looks pretty upset about it. Just sayin. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this post - including the new picture. :)
ReplyDeleteBethany your Mojo is You. You are good at even the most mundane of things. LOVE the new photo. Was tired of that old food!
ReplyDeleteTry some photos, we've not seen anyone in eons. And we need to see the new digs, minus the overflowing pooper.
Bring with you a bottle of 409 cleaner. It looks unassuming, but if they start something funny with ya, squeeze the trigger and aim at their eyes. It has a 10 foot spray and can kill a wasp from the next room. I imagine it would do well on crazy neighbors.
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law definitely says things that catches me off guard - but yours is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAlso? I have moving. Packing/unpacking is the worst thing EVER.
nothing like moving to suck the mojo right out of you. i know.
ReplyDeleteand hey...i use lists all the time... i suck. ;)
