The Mouth

I felt the need to talk for a moment about my son, Drew, the boy who has never had a play-date because we're afraid of what he might say.

Below is a sampling of the things that have escaped Drew's lips in the last two or three weeks...

While amending his Christmas list:  "Mom, for Christmas, I want a squirrel and an axe."

When counting in Spanish:  "Uno, dos, tres, waffle, cinco, seis"

While practicing his letters at the kitchen table:  "Mom, how do you spell 'poison cupcake'?"

While in the shower, singing:  "So what?  I'm still a rock star!  I got my rock moves, and I don't need you!"

While pouncing down the stairs, again singing:  "Fat-bottomed girls, you make the rockin' world go round!"

Maybe my MP3 player is the problem there...

And possibly my favorite - Getting out of the bath and realizing there is company downstairs:  "Mom, I should put underwear on so no one thinks I'm showing off."

Indeed, Drew.  Indeed.

  2. When I was teaching, I would love the stories the kids told: parents exercising on their bed at night, kid calling my "sexy" because that's what dad called mom, etc. And my kids are just as guilty!

  3. Hank is available for a play date. I totally think Drew would be a good influence. Let's just hide the ax.

  6. Oh my gosh, he's a kid after my own heart. So hilarious. He needs his own page so you can keep track of all this. Seriously, you will want to remember every single one of these statements. :)

Both Drew and Eden have a thing for squirrels. Where did that come from?

In answer to your question about Blogger friend connect, it means that all your followers will go away, which is only a bummer because clicking on their little pictures on my sidebar is how I stay in touch with a lot of them. Plus, if you follow more that 3 or four blogs, the email notification just gets way too crazy. So I'm not what's going to happen to all those connections. It's really sad! And yes, that's the only thing I use it for.
