Slurred Title of Some Sort

I'm typing with my eyes closed because it's so much easier and more relaxing this way. Eyelids...so...heavy...

Seriously though, this homeschool thing is sucking the life out of me. Maybe I just need to adjust to it, but at this rate I'm going to be asleep by 8:00 PM every night and be completely unconscious all weekend long.

There are plus sides though.

Brace yourself.

I have been awake, showered, and dressed well before 9:00 AM all week long.

Shocking, no? That hasn't happened two days in a row since I was 20.

Also, the kids don't hate me. I was kind of expecting a little bit of a rebellion, but so far so good.

Possibly the worst change though, since this week began, has been my blog comments. So far I've been keeping my own blog alive by scrounging around my drafts pile, but all of y'alls blogs have gotten to see a little more color from me.

You see, by the time I get around to reading everyone's blogs, it's late and I'm wasted from going non-stop all day. That means I have no energy to hit my self-censor button.

I vaguely remember leaving a comment containing at least one cuss word on someone's blog - no idea who's it was, and I know I made comments about "dirty" fruit on Bossy Betty's blog.

In all honesty, those comments were likely more of my true self than anything I usually say, but I try to keep it reigned in when I'm completely coherent.

So if you've gotten an odd, offensive, or off-color comment from me - you have my apologies. I'll try to take a nap before I respond from now on.

  1. Please, please, cuss in my comments. I welcome the cusses. I love the cusses!

  2. I have no idea how you are doing it. Homeschooling seems so hard! The fact that you have time to read blogs is impressive to me :)

  3. OK, that crazy-cuss stuff is just funny. Really. And if I see it in my comments, I might snarf my coffee...so please feel free to be the real YOU.

That way, the kids get the squeaky-clean in body AND language teacher. And we get Bethany.

Yeah, I DID actually eat both Fun Dips and the massive box of Sweet Tarts today. Can you tell??

  4. You usually self-censor your comments? That is hilarious, because I think yours are always so hilarious. I am hereby requesting raw, uncensored color commentary on all comments you leave henceforth on my blog. Please letterip.

Ok, now I'm curious b/c all your comments on my blog have been coherent and thoughtful.

  6. You are going to fall over dead asleep on top of your children's studies, if you don't slow down. Just my medical opinion. I love reading your blogs, but maybe a reassessment of your limits is in order. Boy, did I sound like a mother there?!

No such thing as Super Mom!

  8. Okay...two things...I LOVE colorful Bethany - posts, comments, whatever...keep 'em coming!

Second, if you don't make it to my blog, don't worry about it. You know I love ya. And when things get a little more into a groove, you know where to find me.

  9. You are my hero. I couldn't home school my kids for a million dollars. I just don't have the skillz. You go girl.

Hey, who do you make that thing at the bottom of your posts that says :if you like this, then you also might like? It's really neat. And... how did you make that thing on the right that says "labels" that lists all the subjects in your blog. Way cool too.

P.S. It's 1:30, and I'm still in my pajamas. I NEVER do that. Still singin the blues.

  10. Too funny! I can't imagine being a teacher and a mom at the same time -- no wonder you're wiped out! Part of the perk of my job is I get to give the kids BACK when the day is over :). Glad it's going well for you guys though! Hang in there!

  11. The more colorful the better. Give in to the sleep deprivation!!

Congrats on your first week of home schooling - a major accomplishment! Especially the kids not hating you part. Impressive.

  12. Ready to go to sleep at 8pm? With no energy or time left to read blogs and comment? It's like you're a real, public school teacher! Sounds like there's no big diff (yes, I was a child of the 80s) from my job! Keep up the great work!

  13. If I were homeschooling my children, not only would I still be dirty, I'd be swearing at them I'm sure.

  14. You're good to read everybody else's before tending your own. Me? I just gave up on everything all together and if I did have the energy...I was selfish and just wrote on mine fully expecting people to love me enough to keep crawling back for more. :)
