Wonders of Garlic

Halloween is a great time of year, no?  So much weirdness going on.  It's my kind of party.

Speaking of weirdness...

Cameron and I watched a video online yesterday about how to peel a whole head of garlic in ten seconds.  When the video was over I looked at Cameron and said, "Well, that was pretty cool."  And his response was:

"You could put that in your underpants and protect yourself from vampires."

I thought it was a good idea.  I often feel concern about how to keep the vampires out of my underpants.  Problem solved.

My real concern is about why my son is using the word "underpants".  He sure didn't learn that goofy word from me.  I'd prefer he call them something less nerdy.

Like knickers.

But anyway - there's one more use for garlic, ladies, because I bet if you put garlic in your knickers, it'll repel more than just vampires.  So grab a clove and take the night off!

  1. I much prefer underpants to knickers any day. Knickers seem a bit girlie to me!
The real question is why does he think Vampires will want to get in his underpants!
There are always tighty whites, big boy pants, boxers, briefs....lots of names, just like the names for breasts can go on and on.....but I am sure that is a whole other blog for you!
    Happy Fall!

  5. That's true, at least he didn't say panties. The terrible part about this is that I was recently researching homeopathic remedies for yeast infection, since I can't take the pill for it while I'm preggo, and some people were suggesting exactly what Cameron suggested!!

  6. You might have to blame Captain Underpants for encouranging the use of underpants. I myself use that word -- without any influence -- other than that's what we called 'em in 1970. I'm trying the garlic to keep the vampires out. Personally, I'm more terrified of werewolves.

  7. The word underpants always makes me laugh....it reminds me of a scene in Degrassi (I don't care how old I am, I will never be too old for that show) when one of the characters is wearing a thong so you can see it above her low rise jeans; the girl sitting behind her says "I can see your underpants" as if a thong could ever be called underpants!

  9. Bwahahaha! That's hilarious! Do you think Cameron got "underpants" from Captain Underpants (or do you not let them read that stuff?) :)

  10. I like garlic. A lot. So I might get the wrong idea if my wife tried that...
