I have too much mental fatigue going on to post much of anything, but I feel so distant from my little blog home that I want to get something down. Anything. Don't you love it?
So here's a bullet list of what's going on here:
- Andrew finally got his VW bug, Brigitta, registered on Monday and then it broke down. (Today is Tuesday, people.) Hopefully a quick fix, but at the moment the poor car is all alone in a parking lot in Hillsboro somewhere... We're off to get a tow rope in a minute here. How have we owned this car for eight years without a tow rope??
- Tomorrow or Thursday we should find out if Cameron got in to Rachel Carson School of Environmental Science. Competition is fierce, and while I'm trying to keep my hopes up - I can't. It was all too disappointing when he didn't win the lottery. However - Cameron's essay was pretty kick butt, so you never know. And a one-in-three chance is better than ... Well, it's better than one-in-four, isn't it?
- Ethan and Cameron are both playing sports again after our 15 month hiatus. Man, has it been nice to not have to worry about getting kids to practices and games. Let's all pray that Cameron isn't gifted enough to make All-Stars, ok? I have no desire to spend all summer driving to and from games and practices. I'd much rather be sitting home plotting my annihilation of the Ice Cream Man. Which brings me to the next bullet...
- That darn ice-cream man drove through our neighborhood again today. Today. March 6th! A day that began with snow on the hood of my car. What is that man thinking, and is it wrong of me to want to lace the street with nails so his tires will go flat every time he comes around? That's all I have so far, and it's unrealistic because I have to drive on the street, too. I'm open to suggestions.
- Andrew starts school at PCC in April - better late than never would apply here.
- I am working out regularly for the first time since P.E. classes were a mandatory part of my high school curriculum. There is now a clear difference between my thighs and my butt. It's what I always wanted. For proof, see the Kestner Family Sneak Peek on this facebook page.
- Drew and Trent drive me crazy every day, and every once in a while they make it up to me by falling asleep while I hold them.
Why didn't I get the email that you had a new post?!? Anyway, as for the ice cream truck, Matt and his brothers used to wait until the guy was driving away, then run outside yelling for him to come back. Once he'd get turned around, they'd all go hide...but then he'd just be around longer.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sad that we all pray out kids won't make all stars :) It just throws a wrench into everything -- like summer vacations. :)
ReplyDeleteWay to go you shape shifter you!!!
