My Un-Birthday

Andrew claims that he didn't forget my birthday, he just thought it was on Thursday.

I say he's full of it.

But either way, he made up for it tonight by taking me out to dinner and pretending today was my birthday.  I ordered a lovely sweet crab fettuccine.  He had fish and chips.  Tonight went down as one of the few nights when I was able to order better than he did.

We got home and had cinnamon rolls for dessert.  I brought Andrew's up to the bedroom on a plate for him because he was busy playing a video game.  Cause he's 12.

And then we, I mean I, got the kids ready for bed.  I went into the bathroom to monitor the teeth brushing and hollered to anyone within earshot - "Why is there a plate in the bathroom?"

Andrew hollered back - "I told Cameron to take my plate down to the kitchen.  I don't know why he didn't do it."

To which I replied - "Why is Cameron your dish slave?"

And Andrew, in all seriousness said - "Because today is your birthday."

This is what I live with, people.

  3. I hate it when I get out ordered. It saddens me when the food arrives at the table and someone else's looks better. Glad you got the good plate!
    Happy Un-Birthday!

  4. I believe birthdays should take a week to celebrate, so I'd say that Dish Slave is not finished with his duties yet.

  5. I have an unbirthday 3/4 of the time. It greatly works to my advantage. :)

  6. Andy should have said "It's your UN-birthday, cause I forgot and I'm the smuc".

  7. There were a couple of times where Eric went on his yearly fishing trip over Mother's Day weekend. I've gotten a lot of mileage out of that. Don't tell him, but I didn't even really care! But I sure like to make him think I did. ;)

  10. Happy belated birthday my fellow April-ian! I knew I liked you :)

Yeah, my birthday was pretty much like yours. Another day around the house -- yelling at kids, driving car pools, cleaning up. Sigh.
